Recently, Shimano announced that its partnership with Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O.) will be extended to the end of 2028. This extension covers several high-profile UCI WorldTour cycling events, such as the Tour de France, Tour de France Femmes, Vuelta a España, and its women's events.
The cooperation between Shimano and A.S.O. began many years ago, with both parties committed to ensuring the fairness and safety of the races through high-quality neutral services. Shimano provides technical support for cycling events worldwide, offering assistance to all participating riders at critical moments through blue neutral service cars and motorcycles. Each year, Shimano's service team supports over 560 race days, covering major events globally.
In 2024, Shimano's neutral service cars and motorcycles have returned to the Chinese arena, such as the recently concluded 2024 Tour of Qinghai Lake and 2024 Tour of Hainan, after several years of interruption, where this service was previously provided by the Chinese bicycle company, PARDUS(“瑞豹”).
In recent years, the global cycling market has shown a steady growth trend. With the enhancement of environmental awareness and the popularization of a healthy lifestyle, the demand for bicycles as a green travel tool and sports equipment has significantly increased. Especially during the pandemic, more and more people chose cycling as a way of exercise and travel, promoting the prosperous development of the bicycle market. According to market research institutions, the global bicycle market is expected to continue its growth trend in the coming years, bringing more opportunities and challenges to the related industry chain.
Shimano, as a global leader in bicycle components manufacturing, was founded in 1921 and has been dedicated to the innovation and development of cycling technology. Yuzo Shimano, Executive Vice President, stated that the company will continue to support cycling sports and is committed to providing fair competition opportunities for all participating riders. Through its long-term cooperation with A.S.O., Shimano has not only demonstrated its commitment to cycling sports but also injected new momentum into the sport's future development.
Looking ahead, the collaboration between Shimano and A.S.O. will continue to promote the development of cycling sports and inspire a new generation of riders to achieve their dreams. Against the backdrop of the global cycling market's robust growth, this partnership will also drive further upgrades and progress in related industries.
