The Unveiling of a New Route: The Launch of the 2024 Gree Tour of Guangxi Road Cycling World Tour Held in Nanning

On September 10, 2024, the press conference for the 2024 Gree Tour of Guangxi Road Cycling WorldTour (referred to as the 2024 Gree Tour of Guangxi) was grandly held at the Nanning Wanda Vista Hotel. Guests attending the press conference included Wei He, Deputy Director of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Sports Bureau; Lei Zhu, Marketing Director of Gree Electric Appliances; and Mei Zhang, President of Wanda Sports Group China Company. UCI President David Lappartient delivered a video address, expressing his best wishes and high expectations for the event. 

The 2024 Gree Tour of Guangxi will be divided into men's and women's races. The men's race will be held from October 15 to 20 in Fangchenggang, Chongzuo, Baise, Hechi, Laibin, and Nanning. The women's race is scheduled for October 20 in Nanning, bringing a visual feast of speed and passion to the audience. 

Unique Course Design 

The route for the 2024 Gree Tour of Guangxi has been meticulously crafted, consisting of six stages: Fangchenggang City Stage, Chongzuo-Jingxi Stage, Jingxi-Bama Stage, Bama-Jinchengjiang Stage, Yizhou-Nongla Scenic Area Stage, and Nanning City Stage, with a total distance of 1,021.8 kilometers. The new course reduces flat stages, increases mountain and hilly stages, and covers multiple cities for the first time., showcasing Guangxi's magnificent natural scenery and rich cultural landscapes. 

Wei He, Deputy Director of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Sports Bureau, pointed out that the new course truly realizes the concept of "Tour of Guangxi," fully showcasing the magnificent scenery, unique border customs, and rich ethnic culture of southwestern Guangxi. This design not only enhances the competitiveness and viewing experience of the race but also adds to the challenges and suspense, bringing a more exciting and thrilling experience to the audience. 

Highlights of the Event 

The 2024 Gree Tour of Guangxi Men's Race will attract 19 top teams, including 16 WorldTour teams, covering the top three ranked teams in the world. The Chinese National Team will also participate again, having achieved impressive and historic results last year. 

The Women's WorldTour will welcome 18 top teams, including the Chinese Liv Women's Professional Team and the Li Ning Star Women's Team, who will bring spectacular races to the audience. 

This year's race features four leader jerseys, awarded to the overall champion, best young rider, King of the Mountains, and sprint king, symbolizing different honors and achievements. 

Participation for All, Shared Passion 

During the event, a series of public participation activities will be held, including online competitions, offline club rides, and meet-and-greets with star riders, aiming to attract more cycling enthusiasts to participate and experience the excitement and charm of the event. It is particularly worth mentioning that the online competition WORLDTOUR CHALLENGE will be held in Nanning, with the same course as the professional race, attracting many cycling enthusiasts to register. 

On October 15, 19 teams from around the world will depart from Fangchenggang and, after six intense stages of competition, the overall champion will be crowned in Nanning. Let us look forward to this sports feast of speed and passion and witness the glorious moments of cycling together.
